ABOUT ME

Houston, Tx, United States
Hi. Welcome to my site; my name is Karen. I'm an avid scrap-booker, card-maker, and paper-crafter. I have been scrapbooking for about 12 years and I am just as excited now as when I first started. Scrapbooking is the instrument I use to record some of the greatest and most special moments of my family’s life. I love buying patterned paper, ribbon and embellishments, taking pictures of my son, teaching scrapbooking and hosting workshops. This hobby continues to be an obsession for me and it continues to challenge me to be a better scrapper. I love the escape that scrapbooking affords me and the fun it has brought into my world. I have one child, a son; he's 15 years old and he is my favorite scrapbook subject. I hope that you enjoyed my site and will visit again soon.

Fabulous Finds

Here's another card from the Fabulous Finds cartridge. This card reminds me of a cold night, with a tall mug of cocoa, a flannel throw and a scrapbooking magazine. Doesn't that just make you feel cozy all over?

Thinking of You

Tonight I didn't have any real agenda, just thought I'd play with some of my paper and the Fabulous Finds Cricut cartridge, one of my favorites. I wanted to do some shaped cards, so here's the first one I came up with. I made two of them, so I'll post the second card on a separate post.

Thinking in Pink and Black

When you think of me, do it in bold colors and patterns. Remember to always add a touch of ribbon and flowers.

June Birthdays

I wanted to get a head start on the June birthdays in my Sunday School class, so I thought I'd play with this paper I purchased at CKC, back in January. I remembered it when I was in Michael's today, looking at ribbon. Don't you think this ribbon is just perfect with this paper? And, you know I couldn't make a card without flowers and buttons. I only hope that my class member enjoys her card, as much as I enjoyed making it.

Summer PinWheels

Little girl birthday cards are some of my most favorite to make because I get to use lots of fun colors and embellishments. My little niece is turning 3 and when I looked at this pattern paper, I knew she would love it. I can't wait to see her expression when she opens her card.

Challenge #8 Girlfriends in Cancun

Velma and I decided that we would continue doing challenges, so for this challenge, we used one of the sketches from Valerie Simon from Scrapbook, Etc. I was a little concerned about using all of these colors and patterns together, but I think I like the way it turned out.

Father's Day #4

Well, I thought I would combine some of my new paper, with my love of painting chipboard. Tell me what you think. Am I on a roll or what?

Father's Day #3

Here's some more of my new paper, but remember it's a secret. I think paisley is my newest craze.

Father's Day #2

More new paper, so remember, don't tell Velma. I was in Southern Ca. this week and I visited a couple of scrapbook stores in Burbank. What do you think; I think this paper is great.

Father's Day #1

I wanted to get an early start on my Father's Day cards, so I decided tonight was as good a time as any, plus I have all this great new paper (did I say new, Velma, I didn't mean new, just unused). It's a secret because I'm not supposed to be buying paper, so let's keep this a secret.

Lutheran Graduation

Well, I'm on a roll, 2 graduation invitations and 2 graduation cards.

Graduation Time

It's high school graduation time and this year I decided that I would make my graduation cards as the invitations come in. This one is for a student from church, graduating from Hightower High School.
