ABOUT ME

Houston, Tx, United States
Hi. Welcome to my site; my name is Karen. I'm an avid scrap-booker, card-maker, and paper-crafter. I have been scrapbooking for about 12 years and I am just as excited now as when I first started. Scrapbooking is the instrument I use to record some of the greatest and most special moments of my family’s life. I love buying patterned paper, ribbon and embellishments, taking pictures of my son, teaching scrapbooking and hosting workshops. This hobby continues to be an obsession for me and it continues to challenge me to be a better scrapper. I love the escape that scrapbooking affords me and the fun it has brought into my world. I have one child, a son; he's 15 years old and he is my favorite scrapbook subject. I hope that you enjoyed my site and will visit again soon.

One More April Birthday

My last card for April birthdays. This has been a very busy month for cardmaking, but hey, who's complaining; certainly not me. Sending them gives me an excuse to keep making them. I saw this card sketch on the web and my mind starting racing with ideas for paper; call it a sickness, I don't care, it helps to keep me sane.

Chic Birthday

Another May birthday card. You can't see it, but I am patting myself on the back. I don't have to mail this card for 2 weeks, but it is ready and will be sitting in an envelope, with stamp, waiting for that day.
Enjoy,

Dad's Birthday

My dad is having a birthday next week and I did not want to be down to the wire making his card, so I got it out of the way early. I've got a few more May cards to complete, so I had better get busy. Stay tuned.
Enjoy,

Lil' Brother's Birthday

well, maybe not so little, but certainly much younger. One of my brothers is celebrating his 34th birthday and I'm always looking for a reason to make a card and send it to someone. I keep my fair share of them, but I really enjoy giving and sending cards. It's weird, but I like doing that, almost as much as I like receiving them.
Enjoy,

He's 14 Now

I can't believe it, my son, my little boy, is not so little anymore. He celebrated his 14th birthday this week and in my usual fashion; I made him a card.
Enjoy,

My Track Star

My son, the track star. Track season has finally come to an end; I have to say that I'm not sad about that, but we won't tell him, okay. He got lots of cheers from me and I got lots of great pictures to scrap. On to the next sport, more pictures, more layouts.
Enjoy,

My Mr. Fix It

Here is my Mr. Fix It; he's working on a communmity service project. He is so at home with a power tool in hand. When I saw this paper in the store, I knew these pictures would be perfect and make for a great layout.
Enjoy,

A Night of Glitz

A night out with my son, family and friends. This year marked the 50th year of our church's existence and we've had an awesome year of activities and festivities. One of those festivities was a formal gala; we had an absolutely wonderful time. So, of course, I did what I always do, I scrapped those pictures in the these two layouts.
Enjoy,

Totally Feminine card

Hi there:
Whew, it's been a while since I've updated my blog, it's not that I haven't been scrapping, just the opposite. I've been busy creating cards, making card kits, making invitations, creating layouts for my monthly Simple Scrapbooking classes and layouts for Sunday Night Layouts (SNL) at By Design Scrapbook Boutique. My nights have been meeting my mornings, quite a bit lately. This is a card I made for the March LeBistro kit. I will share some other items from that kit.
