This past weekend, I had my very own Friday night scrapfest. I started about 7:30 that evening and scrapped until 2:00 Saturday morning and I had a wonderful time. I don't know what they put in Dr. Pepper, but let me tell you, it gave me the boost I needed; I'm sure the Pepperidge Farm cookies helped. I was pretty wired after that, so though I knew at midnight that it was time to stop; the creativity wouldn't stop and I hate to waste creativity.

ABOUT ME
- KarensKreativeTreasures
- Houston, Tx, United States
- Hi. Welcome to my site; my name is Karen. I'm an avid scrap-booker, card-maker, and paper-crafter. I have been scrapbooking for about 12 years and I am just as excited now as when I first started. Scrapbooking is the instrument I use to record some of the greatest and most special moments of my family’s life. I love buying patterned paper, ribbon and embellishments, taking pictures of my son, teaching scrapbooking and hosting workshops. This hobby continues to be an obsession for me and it continues to challenge me to be a better scrapper. I love the escape that scrapbooking affords me and the fun it has brought into my world. I have one child, a son; he's 15 years old and he is my favorite scrapbook subject. I hope that you enjoyed my site and will visit again soon.

With God All Things are Possible
I needed to make a card for a friend this week, so I thought I'd use the CardPatterns' sketch for the week. I really like the sketch and I was pleased with the way the card turned out. I hope the card lifts my friend's spirit.

A Boy's Toys
This is what my son's loves about visiting relatives in the country; he has plenty of open rode to ride in the dune buggy and on the ATV, with wild abandonment. He loves speed and there's never a thought of danger on his mind. I only hope that when he's riding, he here's my low voice in his conscience, telling him to slow down and to be careful. I told him this was going to be the summer of 'no emergency room visits'. We'll see how that plan plays out.

The Kelly Girls
I created this layout about a month ago, for a class I was teaching and was waiting for just the right girly pictures. So what better girly pictures, then me with my mom and sisters. We're all very girly girls.

Play time in Black and White
What great paper, black and white, and what better to coordinate with it, then pink. I was playing around with some stamps last night and here's what I designed. I am going to get a lot of use from these stamps this summer. Now that school is out, and I'm no learning about the Civil War, water erosion, wave patterns and formation and right angles, or be the homework warden, I have so much more time to play. I think I was looking forward to the summer break almost as much as my son was.

1st Annual 2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown
Here is my take on the 2S4U sketch for the card showdown. I wasn't real sure about what I wanted to do with this sketch, but as I started playing, the card just came together. I think it's very festive and summery; I like the way it turned out.

Thank You - 2S4U #27
I guess you can see from my site that I absolutely love these papers. I have used them several times, different designs. I have been needing to send a thank you card to my BSF leader, so I put some of this paper to the side for that. When I looked at the challenge sketch for 2Sketches4U this week, this paper popped in my mind again and some old ribbon that I thought would be perfect with it. Isn't the combination perfect?

Thinking of You - CardPattern #16
I feel off the challenge wagon for a while, because I got busy with other projects and preparing for classes. But, I looked at the Card Pattern challenge for this week and really liked the sketch. It worked to my advantage because I needed to make a card to send me a church member, so I combined the need and the sketch and here's what I created.

Class project
The ladies in my Sunday School class will be starting a random acts of kindness (RAK) project in June and I thought I would get a head start on my cards. Here's one of them that I made, now only 11 more to go, but they will all be equally as fun to make.
Thanks for stopping by.
Play Time
I was playing around a couple of weeks ago and whipping out some cards. I got so in to what I was doing, that I forgot to post them, so here they are. I didn't have a particular theme in mind or a certain ocassion, just wanted to make some cards. Sometimes those are the most fun to make.

A week of scallops and stamping
Okay, so have you ever had a sheet of pattern paper that you just love, but can't figure out what to do with it? Well, this card was made from a sheet of paper like that. I worked on this card a few minutes every night for about 5 nights; this is the final version. I took the entire sheet of each piece of cardstock and pattern paper to come up with this and lots of re-dos; but hey, the re-do's don't count, only the final project; at least here at Karen Kreative Treasures. I'm glad I kept playing with it, I like the way it turned out and the stamp could not have been more perfect.

Cards for Class tomorrow
Here are the cards we'll be making in class tomorrow. I hope the ladies enjoy the cards as much as I enjoyed making them. I think we're going to have a great time.
Enjoy!!
Mother' Day Weekend Class
I am teaching a class in the morning. What a way to start my Mother's Day Weekend, then doing something that I really enjoy. I think I'm just as excited as the ladies are. I just hope that they don't look at my blog today, because I don't know about them, but I still like those oh-uh moments when I go to a scrapping class. We're also going to make some cards; I'll post those in a separate post. It has been a busy week and on top of this, I had Mother's Day cards to make. I got the 5 I needed to mail in the mail this morning; I know, cutting it close. That's generally not my style, but what can I say.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the layouts.

My Dad's Birthday
My dad's birthday is tomorrow and I usually struggle with masculine birthday cards, but this time it came very easy for me. I'm certain it had something to do with this beautiful pattern paper I found. I hope my dad is okay with the flowers on it; he's a real man's man.
April birthdays
April and May are full of family and friends birthdays, so in addition to planning for classes, I was whipping out lots of birthday cards. Talk about having a great time and burning the midnight oil; a late night Dr. Pepper and some Pepperidge Farm cookies helped to keep me going; though some days I felt like I was walking around in a daze, but I would do it all again, in a heartbeat. Here are a few of them:
Happy Birthday
Mr. Al, the owner of the Kolache shop in the neighborhood is always so nice and friendly when we go into the shop. He makes sure to put a couple of my son's favorite kolache's back when they start to get low. Joshua and I wanted to help celebrate his birthday, so we decided that I would make him a cheerful card. I hope Mr. Al enjoyed his card.
Sincere Sympathy
Sympathy cards are never easy for me, but I always like for them to be very nice, soothing and comforting to the recipient. I will hold on to this and hope I don't have to send it anytime soon.
Many Thanks
Just a note to say thank you and what beautiful colors to say it in. Summer is definitely on the horizon, so I thought I'd get an early start with the summer colors. It's amazing what you can do with pretty paper and the right Cuttlebug folder.

Happy Anniversary
I wanted to create an anniversary that would be pleasing to both male and female alike. The colors are masculine, but I think the butterfly gives it that soft look. I just love these crocheted butterflies, and then I remembered that I had some Tattered Angels spray that I'd been dying to use. I think the colors and the butterfly compliment each other well.
TFL, Good night
Thinking of You
I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, but it's been really busy lately, I was preparing for a card class at By Design Scrapbook last week and I'm preparing for a scrapbooking class I'll be teaching next weekend. I will try to play catch up tonight. Here's the first card: a bright and sunny "thinking of you".
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by.
