ABOUT ME

Houston, Tx, United States
Hi. Welcome to my site; my name is Karen. I'm an avid scrap-booker, card-maker, and paper-crafter. I have been scrapbooking for about 12 years and I am just as excited now as when I first started. Scrapbooking is the instrument I use to record some of the greatest and most special moments of my family’s life. I love buying patterned paper, ribbon and embellishments, taking pictures of my son, teaching scrapbooking and hosting workshops. This hobby continues to be an obsession for me and it continues to challenge me to be a better scrapper. I love the escape that scrapbooking affords me and the fun it has brought into my world. I have one child, a son; he's 15 years old and he is my favorite scrapbook subject. I hope that you enjoyed my site and will visit again soon.

Thinking of You in Pink & Black

I'm still learning to use my new camera and haven't mastered some of the settings, so this card appears to be pink and brown, though it's actually pink and black. All that aside, I really like the way this card turned out.
Enjoy and TFSB,
Karen

Secret Memories

Good morning. I've always used my Nestabilities in a single set, so I thought I'd change it up some and use the way they're actually intended. I realized that I liked doing this, so you'll be seeing me do this quite a bit soon. I love these papers, the patterns compliment each other so well. I built the card around the sentiment because I wanted to create an encouragement card.
Enjoy and TFSB,
Karen

Birthday Blessings To You

Blue and brown, one of my new favorite color combinations. I wanted to make a fun, but elegant birthday card.

The Joy of Spring

Spring is on it's way and of course, that inspired me to make this card. I absolutely loves these papers from We R Memory Keepers. Of course, I reached for my Nestabilities and flowers. The flower on this card started out white and I painted it with one of the new colors from Glimmer Mist - Tiger Lilly. The flower center was made with a few drops of Dimensional Pearls. I had a good time making this card.
Enjoy and TFSB,
Karen

Happy Birthday - Courtney

My card-making godchild had her 14th birthday last week, so I wanted to make her a special card. She's new to card-making, and she has made some beautiful cards. I enjoy scrapping with Courtney on Friday nights; it just seems that we never have enough time.

A Mother's Love

Happy Friday everyone. I haven't posted lately, not that I haven't been busy making cards, just moving at 100 mph. Well, I didn't want to go to bed without posting a card for tonight. I'm preparing for my next card class, March 27th at By Design Scrapbook Boutique. If you're in the Clear Lake, drop by the store. I'll be teaching two classes that day.
Enjoy and TFSB,
Karen
